What is Proven Medical?
Proven Medical is a family medicine clinic serving patients aged 5 to 64. We treat children and adults with a range of common medical needs, including wellness and preventive care, mental health support, and acute health issues. Because Dr. Ray is also board-certified in Addiction Medicine, we offer care for food, gambling, substance, alcohol, and prescription medication addiction issues.
What is Direct Primary Care (DPC)?
DPC is a membership-based model. For a flat monthly fee, you get direct access to your physician without co-pays or insurance billing. Membership includes longer visits, priority scheduling, virtual options, and discounts on prescriptions and laboratory tests.
Do I need insurance?
No insurance is required to join. Proven Medical does not bill insurance, and no co-pays are collected. We recommend carrying a high-deductible or catastrophic plan to cover hospitalizations, ER visits, or specialty care.
Can I use my HSA?
Yes! Starting January 2026, individuals may use up to $150/month pre-tax for DPC membership fees, and families may use up to $300/month.
What if I don’t have insurance?
You can still join! Membership includes all office visits, annual lab tests, virtual visits, and communication via text or email. For additional protection, we can connect you with Atlas Direct, a supplemental insurance option designed to complement your DPC coverage.
What is Atlas Direct?
Atlas Direct provides limited benefit coverage (not a full replacement for major medical insurance). It pays set amounts for covered diagnoses and is only available to patients under the age of 65. Learn more at https://atlas.direct. Proven Medical has no financial interest in Atlas Direct.
Why ages 5–64 only?
Proven Medical focuses on providing exceptional care through our direct primary care model. At this time, we serve patients who are not enrolled in Medicare, and we specialize in care for older children and adults. At this time we do not offer vaccines.
What’s the drawback?
The membership fee model allows for unlimited visits, 24/7 access, longer appointments, and a lasting relationship with their physician, which is an investment that not everyone is ready to make.

Yes! Depending on your needs, visits can be scheduled through in-office appointments, virtual visits (video/audio), text consultations, or in-home visits (for a small extra fee).
How does DPC save me money?
No co-pays for office visits or annual labs. Access to wholesale prices on labs and prescriptions. Freedom to choose lower-cost, high-deductible insurance. Most patients save hundreds to thousands of dollars each year while receiving more personalized care.
Is this concierge medicine?
Not quite. Concierge practices usually bill insurance and charge membership fees. Proven Medical offers the same attentive, personalized care—at an affordable price—without billing insurance.
